Our Story
Volumax began in 2020 with a simple frustration: Why couldn't we hear that quiet YouTube video clearly, even at maximum volume? As audio enthusiasts and web developers, we knew there had to be a better solution than constantly adjusting system settings or using external equalizers.
Our founder, Alex Chen, a sound engineer turned software developer, spent countless late nights developing what would become the first version of Volumax. What started as a personal project to solve his own audio frustrations quickly caught attention when he shared it with friends and colleagues.
"The feedback was overwhelming," Alex recalls. "People weren't just using it for videos with low volume—they were using it for podcasts, online classes, and even to help family members with hearing difficulties enjoy online content."
In 2021, we officially launched Volumax in the Chrome Web Store, and we've been refining and expanding it ever since, guided by the needs and feedback of our growing user community.
